Zoo Animals: Bad or Good?

The zoo debate is going on in class and it is about whether keeping animals is a bad thing or a good thing. Well, I am on the side of saying keeping animals in zoos is a bad thing. I say this because animals are not in the home they are used to. Most animals might die of diseases they are not used to if brought over here. Even if they are shot with antibiotics, they will not recognize their home and be very confused with the surroundings. The animals are used to be free and untamed and not caged up to be looked by frightening creatures. When you see an animal at the zoo and you ask, “Where is the tiger, mom?” Do not be surprised. The animal might be a new import from another location and might be having a horrible time trying to forget being captured. Also, animals that are predators will not have as much exercise as they did in their homeland because they are being fed. They do not have to chase after their food source anymore. Later on, they will be fat like the lazy albino alligator at the Houston Zoo in the reptile room. They do not have to use their natural instincts anymore since they are well cared of and don’t have to do anything but being looked at. Animals are not meant to be captured but to live, be free, and be happy like us. We are all different but living things. Please stop treating these animals like this.
